Housing and Building Research Institute is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works. It has a constitutional framework of 22 members of the Governing Council headed by the Hon’ble Minister in charge of the ministry. The Institute is the only National Institute, which is entrusted to conduct research in housing problems, innovations in construction materials, technology and planning.
Housing and Building Research Institute conducts research programs in the field of housing problems. Besides that, it provides extension services in the form of Consultancy, Laboratory Testing and Training. A well-equipped team performs the sub-soil investigation and testing of Building Materials for quality control in construction.
