IPDC Finance Limited (previously known as “Industrial Promotion and Development Company of Bangladesh Limited”) is the first private sector financial institution of the country established in 1981 by a distinguished group of shareholders namely International Finance Corpo IFC), USA, German Investment and Development Company (DEG), Germany, The Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), Switzerland, Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC), UK and the Government of Bangladesh. A public limited company incorporated in Bangladesh under the company Act 1913 (now the Companies Act 1994), listed with the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange Limited since 02 December 2006. IPDC has been a partner in several milestone projects that were the first of its kind in Bangladesh namely First Leasing Company, First Theme Park, First Preference Share Investment, First Independent Power Producer, First Housing Finance Company, First International Standard Private Hospital, First Private Sector 5 Star Hotel, Second Housing Finance Company, First Private Sector TV Channel, First Institutional Investment in Private Sector Education and so. Currently the shareholding structure is, BRAC (25%), Ayesha Abed Foundation (10%), and RSA Capital Limited (5%), The Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh (GOB) (21.8796%), Institutions (25.1819%) and the rest by General public and Foreign entities. Moving forward with a Five-year Strategic paper from 2015 by realigning its focus on youth, women and undeserved areas. With 500 diligent employees across the 12 branches in country, serving 4360 valuable customers, embarked its key strengths of lowest Non-performing loans (NPL) in the industry from 43% to 0.38% in a period of six years and the diverse and strongest Board of Directors and Management Team with prudent approach of all the members leading the strongest Balanced Sheet with the fastest growth rate makes IPDC Finance one of the strongest and fastest growing financial institution of the industry.
