Bangladesh Steel & Engineering Corporation (BSEC)

Bangladesh Steel & Engineering Corporation (BSEC) was formed on 1 July 1976 by the amalgamation of the then Bangladesh Steel Mills Corporation and Bangladesh Engineering & Shipbuilding Corporation under Bangladesh Industrial Enterprises Nationalization, 2nd Amendment) Ordinance, 1976.

Nine Enterprises under BSEC have been playing important role in the economic development of the country as they produce electric cables, transformers, tube light, CFL bulbs, super enameled copper wire, etc. and thereby contribute a lot to the electrification of the country. On the other hand, Eastern Tubes Ltd. is going to produce LED Tube within a few days. BSEC also contributing to the road transport sector by assembling bus, truck, jeep, double cabin pickup motorcycles, etc. Enterprises of BSEC also produce MS/GI/API Pipe and Safety Razor Blade.

Quality products of this Corporation contribute significantly towards over-all development of the country, especially towards infrastructural development which is a vital pre-requisite for economic development. The products of BSEC are of high quality and international standard (according to ISO). As a result, the acceptability of products will increase in both local and foreign markets.

BSEC is run by a board of directors with a chairman & board Chairman & executive head of the organization. There are at present Nine companies under BSEC run for the company board. Thereof which is phase offloaded company. BSEC board Directors are represented in the Managing board as Chairman and/or director.

• ATLAS Bangladesh Limited: Motorcycle assembling.
• Bangladesh Blade Factory Limited: Stainless steel razor blade.
• Eastern Cables Limited: Domestic cables.Aluminum Conductor & Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced.
• Eastern Tubes Limited: Florescent tube light & CFL bulbs.
• Gazi Wires Limited. Super Enamelled copper wire, Annealed Copper Wire & Hard drawn bare copper wire
• General Electric Manufacturing Company Limited: Distribution and Power Transformer.
• National Tubes Limited: API, GI & MS pipes.
• Pragoti Industries Limited: Cars, Jeeps, Bus, Truck, Pick-up, Ambulance, Tractor, etc.
• DACCA STEEL WORKS LIMITED: MS square bar & rod.
